We invite scholars, practitioners, and community-centered non-profit organization to become directly involved in CAP Lab’s mission to contribute to systemic change by expanding research on poverty in the field of communication, increasing public awareness of structural barriers faced by low-income communities, and increasing community-centered approaches to scholarship that democratize the production of knowledge. CAP Affiliates partner with CAP Lab to advance their scholarship and practice by pioneering research, increasing public awareness, and participating in community engagement. The CAP Graduate Fellows Program offers opportunities for graduate students in the fields of communication and journalism to become directly involved in CAP Lab’s mission to contribute to systemic change by expanding research on poverty in the field of communication, increasing public awareness of structural barriers faced by low-income communities, and increasing community-centered approaches to scholarship that democratize the production of knowledge. CAP Fellows partner with CAP Lab to pioneer research, public awareness, and community engagement. Quantitative and qualitative graduate scholars as well as graduate students in professional masters programs are encouraged to apply.
Applications for the next cohort of graduate fellows will become available in Spring of 2026. The selected CAP fellows will be given the opportunity to conduct summer research, participate in professional development workshops, and collaborate with fellow scholars and community partners.
